We’ve removed the interior of Laurens’s Mustang, as well as the dash components and wiring, and are working on his cowl now, too. Boy, the cowls on these old Mustangs really wear out fast. We’ll be treating this one just as we have treated the previous cowl jobs we’ve done, such as Ian’s and Jared’s.

We’re doing a lot of treatment to Ian’s Bullitt, making sure it doesn’t have any hidden damage that will show itself later on. So we’re removing the side vents and inspecting them, as well as under the dash and especially the cowls. We did a lot of grinding to get rid of the rust and check the strength of the metal, and then began rust-converting everything.

Adnan has a leaking cowl, one of the most common rust and leak issues on these old Mustangs. The guys just started the disassembly of the interior of his Mustang to begin treating and repairing the cowl. It will need to be rust converted, undercoated, and maybe repaired with fiberglass or repair collars to stop the leak and prevent future leaks.

Here we are treating Ian’s Mustang’s cowl for rust, and after we’ll be installing the repair collars. We’re first coating it with rust-converter, and then we’ll spray it with undercoat, a thick, heavy paint that will prevent future rusting.
