The door panels were next to come out. They are water damaged and most likely original. We also worked on the exterior of the Mustang. The passenger side fender is off for the battery apron to be replaced. We had to remove the solenoid, fender extension, and headlight to get a clear setup. As you can see, the old battery apron is completely rusted through. Ron included a new apron with the sale of the Mustang and will have the new apron installed soon! We removed the passenger side door and door seals, all of which will be replaced.
All bono’ed areas have been ground down, so that we can start the metalwork. The rear passenger fender will especially need repair. We removed both front and back windshields to replace the headliner. Previously, someone installed a rear antenna. Then, the area was DUCT TAPED (!) under the hole and bono-ed over the hole to hide the evidence. What were they thinking?!?
We also sanded the overhead to prep for headliner. There is a crack that needs to be repaired and we discovered 2 small leaks on each side of the front windshield. These are pretty common problems. They will repair pretty fast!
