Let Me Tell You About the Owner...
We ran into Chris out in Sun City, Arizona, who is a church pastor, a young husband, and a great friend! One of his close church friends worked on Mustangs for many years with his father-in-law. Unfortunately, his father-in-law passed away two years ago, and Chris's friend found himself unable to continue working on Mustangs, so he gave his final finished project to Chris. Chris has driven it now for about two years, but he's looking to simplify his life; besides, this car doesn't have power steering, so his wife can't drive it. They're looking to get a newer, lighter, easy-to-drive car in its stead that both he and his wife can enjoy.
Thank you for helping us save this beauty! She needs to be in the right hands: someone that will garage her, drive her, and love her.
MustangOnlyOne Summary:
What makes this 'Stang so great is that it is a 1969 Ford Mustang Resto-Mod Coupe with 107,500 miles (the odometer has flipped over once, reads 7,500 now) that has had a lot of power added under the hood, but in terms of comfort has been kept down for the sake of utility and muscle. It has a 1995 302 5.0 V8 fuel injected engine with a Ford AOD 4-Speed automatic transmission. It does not have power steering, power brakes, or air conditioning, though the vents and mounting equipment for A/C are present. It also has aftermarket sound system, AM/FM radio with a CD changer in the trunk. The interior is almost completely original, except the front seats (which have leather slip-overs) and is in good condition. The body is solid, damage- and rust-free, as is the undercarriage. The paintjob is very good, though there are one or two nicks on the car (see the Inspection pics) and a few runs on the inside of the doors. The air filter has been known to slip loose on hot days, when the heat loosens it up a bit (they just push it back on and keep going), but that should be an easy fix. Also, the front was hit by a truck's tow hitch once, so Chris has replaced the hood, but the car suffered no structural damage. For overall structural integrity and preservation, MustangOnlyOne gives this car a 10 out of 10 points as a non-original Resto-Mod muscle car, as it is a very solid car, understanding that the modders (Chris's friend) weren't looking to preserve its originality. For overall aesthetic quality and performance, MustangOnlyOne gives this car a 9 out of 10 points as a Resto-Mod driver, as it has a few very minor paint imperfections and a faulty air filter.
