Let Me Tell You About the Owner...
Doug met Bill out in Arizona and got a personal tour of Bill's entire Mustang service center. Bill is a classic Ford man who restores and customizes Mustangs to sell and also provides parts and services to Mustang owners all over the place. Check out the pics above for some of his completed projects, and also one that's going to be getting the grade-A treatment we've come to expect from a master such as Bill. Bill has agreed to let us help him sell his latest project, which he just finished.
Some of the guys who work for Bill were at a garage sale a few years back when they noticed that the people running it were selling a Mustang too! They quickly called Bill and got him to come out and check out the car, and soon Bill was hauling her back to his place for restoration. And boy, we're glad he did. If it weren't for Bill and his guys saving this baby, she might have ended up crushed for scrap metal.
Thank you for helping us save this beauty! She needs to be in the right hands: someone that will garage her, drive her, and love her.
MustangOnlyOne Summary:
What makes this 'Stang so great is that it is a 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback that has been restored to excellent standards. Bill and company weren't focused on making this a numbers-matching ride, so they took the license to install a 289 2v V8 and C4 automatic transmission into this baby in favor of her original 200 straight-6 and 3-Speed manual transmission. On top of that, they installed a bunch of other goodies, such as power steering, power brakes, Pony interior and chrome-tipped dual exhaust, making this ride comfortable and fun in addition to being strong and powerful. Since Bill and his guys know what they're doing, the restoration on this car is top-notch: the engine compartment is positively flawless, the interior is emaculate and damage- and wear-free, the body is damage-free, the body panels are well-aligned, the Ragoon Red paintjob is flawless and gorgeous, and the undercarraige is solid and damage-free. There does, however, appear to be some very minor rust in some of the joints of metal in the undercarraige. For overall frame integrity and reliability, MustangOnlyOne gives this car a 10 out of 10 points as a non-original street-show car, as it is powerful, solid, and drives easy and great. For overall aesthetic quality and performance, MustangOnlyOne gives this car an 8 out of 10 points, as many of the original specifications were not maintained (though this was probably Bill's intention) and the undercarraige has not been 100% treated for rust.
