Let Me Tell You About the Owner...
Ed, the big cheese here at MustangOnlyOne's home base, got in contact with Lenny from NY through our website. In addition to this Mach I, Lenny's got a super-nice Chevelle SS 396 I78 which has been shaved to 427, a very rare and powerful car! Lenny does a lot of the restoration on his cars, such as the chrome work and the interior, but he knows a lot of professionals which do the bigger and more complicated work for him, so he knows that they get done correctly. The Chevelle is pristine and completely restored in like-new condition, and the Mach I is virtually done with only a few minor tweaks left to finish her up. Lenny bought the Mach I about a year and a half ago, and even then a lot of the restoration work was already done, so he only had to finish the job, which he has pretty much done at this point.
Lenny bought both the Chevelle and Mach I for investment purposes, but that's not to say that he doesn't love his cars! He has played and tinkered with cars since he was a kid, and has always taken good care of them and doesn't race them or drive them too hard. He keeps his cars garaged, except for when he goes on his summer drives when that New York weather isn't too cold. Nowadays that his kids are in college, Lenny has to sell his babies to fund his kids's education, and we're a little sorry that he has to part with these beautiful cars.
MustangOnlyOne Summary:
What makes this 'Stang so unique is that it is a numbers-matching 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I with a 351 2v V8 Windsor, 3-Speed Automatic Transmission, and Power Brakes, but no A/C. The car is very professionally restored by Lenny and the professional specialists he knows, and is in cherry condition. The car matches all the specifications on the VIN Door Tag, has a solid undercarraige and is rust-free. It drives great, though according to Lenny it has a few very minor performance tweaks that need to be done to get it in perfect condition. This car is pretty much a straight-ahead Mach I without all the extra options, so it is very affordable. For overall frame preservation and reliability, MustangOnlyOne gives this car a 10 out of 10 points. For overall quality and performance, MustangOnlyOne gives this car a 9 out of 10, as it still requires a little bit of tweaking to get it to a perfect restoration condition.
