1967 Mustang Coupe
Summary
We have just started on this '67 beauty. She's going to undergo a ground up restoration and then we're going to add a little power for higher performance! Get ready to rock this Mustang's world!
Here's the Mustang being loaded and its arrival at MustangOnlyOne's workshop.
Phase 1: Disassembly
Tim spent a day cleaning out the interior of Angel's car. Surprisingly, most of the seats were in pretty good condition. Also, the only rust we found in the floor pans was right behind the driver's seat and, as you can see from the pictures, the interior of the trunk is in great condition!
We spent a weekend cleaning out the engine bay. It required lots of pressure washing! Now, we're removed the front windshield. Of course, the weather seals were rotted pretty badly and the windshield has a crack, but that stuff will fixed when we start putting everything back together! The rear axle, doors, front fenders and grille, hood, and trunk all came out in 2 days! Sprint speed! Finally, on Sunday Tim got to work removing the front driver's side brakes and what do you know but our power went out! He made everyone else look bad by popping on his flood light and getting back to work.
We got the motor and tranny removed. FINALLY, the frame is ready for sand blasting! Phase 1 is done! The next phase is cleaning all of those parts that we removed.
Phase 2: Cleaning and Restoration
OK, now for the good stuff. We will be sending the chassis for sand blasting. This will strip away the dirt and corrosion, so that we can prime on a solid foundation.
